Our long-term goal is to enhance the rich reputation of Mercy Works in the community by providing a state-of-the-art facility that creates a safe, welcoming, and innovative atmosphere. That’s why we are excited to announce the re-launch of the Clarence Jordan Vision Center Capital Campaign. The first phase of the campaign includes structural improvements so that our important programs and services continue safely and without interruption.

About Clarence Jordan
Instead of being crushed by the tragedy and poverty of his childhood, Clarence Jordan became fueled by a deep empathy and determination. He showed people how it felt to be without hope and then inspired them to be a part of the change. Clarence Jordan served the community for over 50 years. He led the Rescue Mission for 38 years as an Executive Director and was the lead fund developer at Mercy Works from 2006 until his passing on September 8, 2018 at the age of 88.
Clarence's efforts helped raise more than $100 million for local community efforts. He also served on several local boards, including the Boeheim Foundation. His impact leaves a lasting legacy and one that we at Mercy Works are proud to carry on in his honor.
“Few have made a greater impact on our community than Clarence Jordan. His faith in Christ and steadfast love for humanity has been an inspiration for all who knew him. I consider it a great honor to have been his pastor, and he my friend.”
-Rev. John Carter, Senior Pastor at Abundant Life Christian Center, founder and President of Mercy Works, Inc.
