Goals & Structure
The primary goals of the Read & Succeed camp are to deliver quantifiable enhancements in phonological and phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension through daily explicit learning modules. We aim to cultivate a passion for reading and learning through interactive and engaging activities, including a digital component, an interactive gamified wall experience, and workshops featuring special guests alongside personalized 1-to-1 reading mentor sessions.
Daily Learning Modules: Structured sessions focusing on phonemes, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension. Utilize explicit teaching methods to address current skill levels and introduce new concepts.
Interactive Activities: Integrate technology through a digital component to make learning engaging and relevant. Create a gamified wall experience to reinforce learning through interactive challenges and rewards.
Special Guest Workshops: Invite professionals and experts to conduct workshops, sharing real-world applications of literacy skills. Enhance exposure to diverse reading experiences and career possibilities.
1-to-1 Reading Mentor Sessions: Pair students with a reading mentor to provide individualized support. Foster positive relationships to motivate and encourage a personalized approach to literacy improvement.
